This is a Field i have been strimming and clearing up during August.I have been starting at 6am and doing a few hours untill the Sun gets hot.Its strange but people say to me why do so much work on some land that does not belong to you! And i say that my belief is that i belong to the Earth and i might make 80 if i am lucky but the Earth has been here here for Billions of years so we are sold a giant "con"An Illusion that we can actually own our Mother.

Were going to have a Poultry House here when i get on top of it!! No not the Hen house!!

This is the entrance to Courts Yard-July 03.There is so much to do!!but whats the Rush enjoy each day as it's given you.

Well i have nearly done this bit now just have to build the Chicken and Goose homes.

This is a lovely cart that a guy i know was going to burn !! It needs a face lift which i will do next summer.I renovated a bow top Vardo in the 70s.

Well we have it up and running with about 15 Hens two of which are Bantums and one newborn chick,we get about 7eggs a day at the moment. The little Mother is a Pekin Bantum with fluffy feet she is a really great Mother and i would like to get her a Pekin Cockral as soon as i can find one.

Rosie,Ra and Jane teaching Rosie how to do Stunt riding.

Rosie no Fear (look no hands).

Jane and her Brother Mick with Rosie in the saddle. The black horse at the back is Penny who is looking for a good home she is nervous and was beaten by her last owners (Free to good home).

I just found Another Car in here! I will put a shed for our Goats in here soon.

If you wonder why there are so many Baths about its because we have no mains Water and have to catch all we can in Tanks and Baths and any other container's we can lay our hands on.Oh look there's half a Mini.

Here's the old mobile the ceilings have fallen in and there are holes in the floor.

Here are Penny and Red doing what Horses do best.Red is a Welsh A section Gelding that we are making frends with Jasmine sat on his back in Sept and Jane led him,so we are getting him tame.

"Site forman"My Grandaughter Jess was playing with Rosie and she loved it.

Here's an old tree trunk that the Pony's scatch there backs on there is no fencing to speak of so i have loads to do!but the ground is too hard at the moment.

Its 21st October now and there has been no rain i have done some of the fencing but its been hard going.

Jazz on Red with Jane this is as far as we know the first time he has been backed, but Jazz did'nt push him to much.

Here's Beryl and her offspring the large white one is half Pekin Bantum cross with a Chicken Cockerel and the little chick is an adopted chicken they are living with Jane at the moment and eating her grass.

Here's my Red looking very calm and gentle i am becoming very attached to these two.

The Silkies a Buff Orpinton Hen and a Pekin Cockrel Feb 04.

Autum 03.

Our Geese Feb 04 two Geese and a Gander, they were born last year and this is the first time they have grazed on grass, they are very nervous but i am getting friendly with them.

This is one of Rosie's Mates Babs the Pekin who pop's in early evening to watch Pengu on the TV.

Well its March now and the Daffs are out which means Spring is just around the corner the Magpies and Crows are nesting its funny but the Winter did'nt seem as long this year dispite having to visit the Holding twice a day to feed and clean the Family the Weather was not always conductive to getting much done .Last month a Dog got in with the Chicken and killed 5 of them about 12am one morning including Eddy they have not been laying so well because of the shock.I have not caught the Dog,and i know it was a Dog as i can read the paw prints and my Son in Law who track's a lot also found some ,it did not eat any just tore them up and left,if it had been a hungry Fox or Badger i would have understood it was February a hungry time for the Wild things.Have just had some eggs from the Geese this week and have applied for a holding number so i can have a couple of Piglets soon.

I took this at Dicks Farm last year it was one of my favourite photo's of last year,Country Smallholdings have put it in the April addition which i was pleased about.

Although the Geese have a large bath they prefer this top off a sandpit and have a wonderful time in it,they have settled in now and are laying quite well they are cleaning up the field that the Horses made dirty last year.

Here is my new Cockeral Eddie the second who came from Dave across the fence,he is very protective of all the Hens.

This field has had a rest from the Horses all winter and once again looks like Grass.
